Phase 3: Priming, painting, and finishing touches
Priming walls
- Now that the messy work is done, it was time for the home stretch!
Priming the walls kicked off the 3rd and final phase of my basement
remodeling project.
Deciding
on a paint color - Choosing a paint color can be very difficult.
Using Better
Homes and Gardens Interior Designer made the job of selecting
a basement paint color much easier!
Buying
home theater systems - Finally it was time for the most exciting
part of my basement remodeling project- buying home theater components!
Painting
the basement walls - Time to add some color to the room! Things
went much faster with the Wagner Power Painter!
Insulating
the ceiling - Fiberglass insulation will help keep the heat
and sound where it belongs.
Installing
the drop ceiling grid - Installing the grid for the acoustic
tiles in the drop and we're on the home stretch now!
Drop
ceiling tile selection - I was initially considering several
acoustic tile designs from Owens Corning, see the Certainteed
Celotex Cashmere tile I went with instead!
Drop
ceiling tile installation - Installing whole tiles is easy,
it's the cuts that will get you. Measure twice, cut once!
Finishing
the electrical - Connecting all the loose wires, and installing
the recessed lighting. Let there be light!
Home
theater wiring - Next it was time to run the cabling that
would bring together the showcase of my basement- the home theater!
Buying carpeting
- Mohawk & Shaw were two name brands we considered when picking
our carpeting. See what we ended up with!
